We are pleased to announce our collaboration with the Smith Mountain Striper Club to install an additional 6 water temperature sensors around Smith Mountain Lake (SML).
If concerns about flooding, fluctuations in water levels, or the current water temperature at the lake have crossed your mind, and if you wish to stay informed with SML-specific alerts or even fancy tracking the Smith Mountain Lake Ice Cream Boat – this application is tailored for you. Whether you are a visitor, resident, or boater at Smith Mountain Lake with an interest in monitoring water levels, water temperatures, and wind forecasts, SML+ has got you covered.
SML+ stands out as the exclusive application offering:
- Water Level measurements updated every 15 minutes
- Water Temperature updates every hour from 7 different locations around SML
- Interactive Water Temp Sensor Map displaying the locations of the temperature sensors
- Intuitive graphical representations depicting daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly fluctuations in Water Level and Water Temperature at the lake
- Wind Forecast providing wind speed, gust information, and direction over a 5-day forecast period
- Historical annual average Water Level data reference
- Color-coded indicators denoting the status of Water Level
- Water Level details for SML, Leesville, and Claytor Lakes
- Access specific measurements by selecting points on the Water Level and Water Temperature charts
- Real-time Water Level and Safety Alerts
- Geolocation feature for tracking the SML Ice Cream Boat and Hot Dog Boat
